The P32ACDM's are different because they can ran on a third rail. This enables them to enter in and out of Grand Central Terminal. These locomotives were designed to replace the EMD FL-9 that Amtrak and Metro North RR used up until the late 90's. Amtrak has the claim to fame for giving life to the genesis. The Genesis is the #1 passenger locomotive as to date. There are three kinds of Genesis (aka AMD103) the P40DC, the P42DC, and the P32ACDM. The Genesis is based off a Dash 8 and was manufactured in Eire PA by General Electric .
